About This Game
A Puzzle You Can Sink Into
Star Blocks is a calm block-puzzle played on an 8×8 night-sky board. Three chunky shapes wait at the bottom — bars, squares, L-pieces, stars — and you tap a shape, then tap where it should land. When a full row or column lights up, it bursts into sparkles and frees the space again.
There is no timer and no gravity. You can think for a second or a minute, which makes Star Blocks just as good for a quick waiting-room round as for a long thoughtful session.
Combos and Clever Planning
Clearing one line feels good. Clearing two or three at once feels amazing — the board flashes “Double!” and “Starblast!” and your score jumps with combo bonuses. Chaining clears on consecutive placements grows the multiplier, so the real skill is saving space for that one perfect piece.
- Clear a full row or column to pop it
- Clear several lines at once for bonus points
- Clear lines on back-to-back placements to build a combo
- The round ends only when no shape fits anywhere
What You Do
- 1Tap a shape, then tap the board to place it
- 2Fill whole rows or columns to clear them for points
- 3Chain clears to build combo multipliers
- 4Use undo or a magic row when the board gets tight
- 5Chase your best scorethe round never times out
Tips for Players
Keep the middle of the board open — big squares and long bars need room.
Place pieces so they complete two lines at once; combo points add up fast.
Do not rush the third shape: check where all three could go before placing the first.
Save the magic row reward for a truly stuck board, not a mildly crowded one.
Controls
- Tap a shape, then tap the board to place it
- Tap the shape again to deselect it
- Tap undo to rewind your last move

Accessibility note
Star Blocks has no timers and uses two simple taps per move instead of dragging. Blocks differ in both shape and color, and cleared lines flash with a text label like “Starblast!” so the feedback does not rely on color alone.
Questions & Answers
No. You can think as long as you like — the round only ends when no remaining shape fits on the board.
